Oh the Things I have Seen and Done

As silly as this sounds, it is hard to think about what to put in a blog these days because every week I see or do something incredible and awe inspiring so that is has become a regular thing. I see a new castle this day, meet some amazing people the next, try some incredible food one day and wander through a magical garden another day.
The past couple of weeks have been both good and bad. On the bad side of things, I found out I would have to do an extra week of class that I wasn’t expecting and I was really frustrated about that because we found out so last minute, and to top it off I got really sick for a few days. Fortunately though my sickness didn’t last long, and I passed all my exams with flying colours, which means I officially passed my exchange! This week I have been having various outings with my friends to, unfortunately, say goodbye. Everyone has finished uni and they are now going off with various people to travel around Europe before heading home to their respective countries. I am exhausted physically and emotionally from all the goodbyes and I am very sad to see them go. There are a couple of people I know I will see again (notably the ones who live in Australia and who might visit Australia) but others who I highly doubt I will see ever again. On Friday, I had my last class and we spent the school hours doing some theatre, stuffing out faces in a farewell class party, listening to people play music from their countries (it was beautiful! I sang a bit of Wonderwall and Hallelujah) then after class we headed to a local bar for a farewell drink (mocktails, woo!) then finally went off to our favourite teacher’s house for a party (she’s only 29!) and I said goodbye to some classmates forever but not to others as I thought I’d see them for the extra week of class, but it turns out as of yesterday I am no longer required to do it, so I am freeeeeee! It means that I didn’t say a proper goodbye to some of my classmates but it also means NO MORE CLASS, which means FREEDOM! It is a wonderful feeling and I was with Adam when I found out, and he got to witness me jumping and dancing around the room singing and squealing, lucky him.
So, like I said, ups and downs, but from here on out it will go up, up, up because my mother arrives in a week!! We are going to travel the HECK out of Europe! We’re thinking a road trip around the UK, a visit to the Alps, then either the Italy/Spain route or the Germany/Austria route (or both, depending on time) and it will be fantastic!
Then, at the end of June, we will head back to Australia and my 5 month Europe adventure will come to a close. It has been the best experience of my life and I am so grateful for it, so thank you, universe!

P.S I just watched The Princess and the Frog for the first time and cried when Raymond the firefly died. C’est la vie!
P.P.S My iPhone decided to keep disconnecting from my wifi and I had a very French moment and said “N’importe quoi, j’en ai marre de cette merde!” (Whatever, I am sick of this shit!) of which I am slightly proud. But ne vous inquiétez pas, I fixed it!
